The Big Give - Sunday, November 20, 2011

FBC, Crestwood will be taking our 3rd Annual Community Plunge. This is an effort to take our faith in Jesus Christ into the streets. We are setting up service oppurtunities that will make it possible for every person in our fellowship to participate.

Here is how it works. We meet at church @ 9am for donuts and a send-off. We work on our project until 10:50am. Then we gather for a Worship Rally @ 11am. We usually follow this up with an easy Fellowship Lumch. If you would like additional details on ways to participate please call the church office.
Operation Christmas Child
There are 3 ways that you can help with Operation Christmas Child this year!

  1. Participate in our Packing Party - bring in any toys, school supplies, toothbrushes, soap, combs, hard candy that are new that you may have and put it in the red box in the foyer. On Wednesday night, November 16 from 7-8pm we will work together and pack shoe boxes with all the items we have collected in the red box.
  2. Pack a Shoe Box at Home - Pack socks, ball caps, hair clips, jewelry, flashlights, school supplies, toys, hard candy and hygiene items in a shoe box for one of these children. Instructions are on the table in the foyer. Bring in by Sunday, November 20.
  3. Be a Prayer Team Member - OCC is asking for individuals to pray for OCC and the children during the last week of the campaign. You commit to praying a specific day for OCC. Marsha or Barb can sign you up for this online for the day that you choose between November 14-20 or go to http://www.samaritanspurse.org/OperationChristmasChild
Soles 4 Souls

Water for Kenya - Kenya is suffering its worst drought in 10 years.

First Baptist Crestwood has collected over 1,000 pairs of shoes for George the Shoeman! That is truly amazing! George sells the shoes by weight to South America and with the money he raises he buys water rigs for Kenya. The drought is impacting people as well as livestock. These are desperate times.

There are 4 water rigs working in Kenya now. Please search your closet, garage, and car trunk for any old shoes and drop them in the container near the front door of the church. Every shoe helps!
