Lance grew up in rural Missouri. He was the middle child of five. He graduated from Southwest Baptist Univeristy with a BA in Religious Studies and English. He then earned a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as a Baptist Campus Minister and as a pastor. He has ministered at FBC Crestwood for fourteen years.
In his spare time, Lance enjoys reading, running, cooking and watching sports of any kind. He is a devoted Mizzou basketball and football fan and a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal fan. He is known to go a little crazy during "March Madness!"
Lance was a confirmed bachelor until he met Joy. They date for "a long time" and have been married for four years. Joy is a middle school counselor who recently became a stay at home mom. Lance and Joy are currently fostering two children and enjoying the role of being parents.
